Adapted Physical Education: a Look from Marti´s Work and Vygotski's Postulates

Today´s social conscience concerning people with special educational needs is being increased, whether they are related or not to disabilities, as well as the possibility of improving their educational levels which derive into their social integration with an attention as special as themselves. Human being´s diversity. Each person requires a specific education, which implies taking into account interests, motivations, concerns of every child, adolescent and young person with different learning rhythms. Reason why it is needed diversity for their education, not to exclude them. A staff of professionals working together in this kind of education is important for their education. In this sense, the Physical Education class may support this, at the time it is increased the preparation of teachers interacting in the psychological development of these kind of students. Hence, it is required the integration from Adapted Physical Education in every single physical activity of the class, where their real needs and possibilities are taken care of. Likewise, creating programs which allow their participation along with real possibilities of succeeding; and that it is applied the regular curriculum with curricular adaptations permitting their social integration and life preparation. In Special Education the L. S. Vygotski´s historico-cultural model is in effect, as well as the pedagogical fundamentals of Marti´s work. As conclusion, it is stated the need to take advantage of Vygotsky and Marti´s fundamentals regarding this particular topic to increase the cultural level of teachers and use them in the teaching process.
