Physical-Corrective Exercise for Patients with Idiopathic Scoliosis
Keywords:
physical-corrective exercise, idiopathic scoliosis, testAbstract
It was verified the action of the physical-corrective exercise in patients with idiopathic scoliosis through a minimal control experimental design with pretest and posttest for a single group, supported in a research descriptive study. The sample was made out of 12 teenagers, six masculine and six feminine. Theoretical, empirical, and statistical-mathematical methods were used, besides the Adams test and angle of Cobb method. They diagnosed the prevalence of idiopathic scoliosis in the sample. To verify the theoretical strength and the physical-corrective exercises program feasibility it was applied the ATJ matrix. The main results reveal that the program presented a strong theoretical prediction and it can be applied to the research sample. The proposal allowed the patients to assimilate satisfactorily the load planned, correct the scoliosis curvature, and improve their quality of life and performance in their daily and school lives.
