Abstract

Many cases of aggression in sports due to the diversity of sexual orientation among athletes have been recorded. This situation allows for a debate on the idea that in sports training, this factor may be important in determining an athlete's potential beyond their athletic effort. The objective of this research is to determine whether there is physical and verbal violence in women's softball in Santiago and whether it affects the subjectivity of the coaches, teachers, and athletes on the team. The methodology followed included a literature review related to the topic, analysis and synthesis, and the systemic structural functional method. Empirical methods such as scientific observation, interviews, and surveys were used. The research revealed that subjective conceptions related to diverse sexual orientation affect the athletic performance of female athletes. A psychopedagogical strategy was proposed aimed at providing didactic guidance on attitudes toward sexual diversity among female softball athletes in Santiago de Cuba, which facilitated the development of interpersonal relationships among the personal components of the team and increased their athletic and teaching performance.
