SPORT: A FIELD TRADITIONALLY MASCULINE. AN ANALYSIS FROM A GENDER PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

The present work has as objective to analyze from the gender perspective the cultural causes that generate tendencies in woman to the sport practice. In context were analyzed the origins of the gender studies up to the concepts which today it is defined, more advanced from the psychological point of view with a higher scientific rigor assumed and contextualized in previous studies. In this investigation elements that endorse the cultural causes of the given cultural tendency of the feminine through the sport practice are shown. The production and reproduction of gender as product and socialization process, in the construction of differences between sex, that become into inequality; which as a consequence generates an imbalance in the generic power relationships, that causes an unequal incorporation of woman and man to the spot practice, an invisible topic to the ones who decides in this field is evidenced.
