BASICS FOR THE SPREADING OF THE CHESS IN THE SCHOOL OF BASIC GENERAL EDUCATION DR. THIN CAESAR LUCAS, EQUATOR

Abstract

Chess is an intellectual game that is considered as an educator of reasoning, very beneficial to the overall development of the students discipline in the intellectual field. His massive practice for school-age students facilitates the development of skills and thought processes and encourages the creative potential in students in solving academic and social life problems. In this paper, a diagnosis was made in the academic year 2013-2014 in   Educative General Basic School Dr. "César Delgado Lucas", Portoviejo province of Manabi, Ecuador, in order to characterize the current situation of the practice of chess in this school and the involvement of different groups and educational factors involved. The results indicate that there is an insufficient level of knowledge of teachers about the game of chess and its practice by students, enough importance is not given to its impact on the intellectual development of students and they are not sufficiently motivated. However, there is good motivation on the family so that the children to play it.
