THE ROLE OF UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR FACING ICT IN THE NEW CUBAN UNIVERSITY
Abstract
A tour of the concepts of information society, knowledge society and ICT ago. Representing the importance in society and particularly in universities is displayed. The aim of this paper is to reflect on the roles of university teachers, from the perspective of the New Cuban University, and the use of TIC. As a result of these changes, the Cuban Higher Education has been working on a new model, where the teacher has new features. The functions of the teacher exposed as Graell Mark, who proposed a set of TIC-related competencies, grouped into four dimensions. One modeling skills shown in TIC academics, given by the author, where skills are grouped around the role they play in relation to information and communication mediated by technology. Three levels of depth are also defined. Thus, the modeling has an instrumental character, which can serve as a reference for conducting a diagnosis to, corresponding to the identified skills and depth levels, undertake actions in order to obtain high levels of development.Key words.
