Abstract

This article is the result of an investigation into Communicative Competence carried out with judo students studying subjects I, II and III at the "Manuel Fajardo" University of Sport Sciences. The objective was to demonstrate how communicative competence is developed through judo-specific lexicon. In the process of compiling a guide of judo-specific terms, different methods and instruments were applied. This guide then helped create a flow chart of the subject thataids learning in pragmatic communication and helps develop abilities to produce and interpret the intentions within contextualised phrases. The guide of judo-specific terms and the flow chart derived from it were shown to aid the development of communicative competence.
