STUDY OF VOLITIVE QUALITIES IN FEMALE TENNIS PLAYERS OF NELSON FERNÁNDEZ TRAINING CENTER, SAN JOSÉ DE LAS LAJAS

Abstract

The objective of this investigation is to characterize the level of development of volitive qualities of 11-12 year old tennis players of Nelson Fernández Training Center, San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque, Cuba, during the general psychological preparation phase on the base of articulating the physical-technical training objective with the psychological one. A psychological diagnosis where several instruments were used such as an observation guide, an anonymous questionnaire, a standard will qualities test, a standard test of assessment of will qualities for coaches were used in this investigation. Various aspects, like type of sport, age and sex of athletes, results of the psychological diagnosis and different criteria of various foreign and national authors about the system of operation to be applied during the general psychological preparation phase were taken into consideration for the detection and confirmation of low level volitive qualities in these tennis players with difficulties in her sports performance.
