METHODOLOGY FOR EDUCATIONAL ATTENTION TO PHYSICO CHILDREN DIAGNOSED WITH MILD MENTAL RETARDATION, SUFFERING FROM ASTHMA
Abstract
This research emerged from the methodological shortcomings of theoretical and practical detected in the process of physical education to children diagnosed with mild mental retardation, suffering from bronchial asthma, during lessons of Adapted Physical Education. The sample consisted of eleven children from the special school "Felix Varela Morales" Granma province, plus two physical education teachers that were consulted, one of Physical Culture Therapeutics, eleven family and physician. Theoretical, empirical and statistical-mathematical methods that guided the research process and the realization of different scientific contributions, were used, for example: the theoretical concept with a focus on prevention, stimulation and development, contextualized in order to study and elaborate methodology declared as practical tool. The results obtained in the final finding of the pre-experiment, allowed to accept the scientific hypothesis stated in this research, by improving the physical and educational services and the development of motor and respiratory indicators investigated in children; also it decreased the number of seizures and drug use, preparing them to live with the disease.
