Abstract

The selection of sports talents is one of the most important factors in the development of school sports. At the Rafael Orejón Forment elementary school in Levisa, in the municipality of Mayarí, there are limitations to carry out this process. A methodology is proposed for the selection of talents for the Basketball in the school category, containing an exercise system based on the percentiles, which helps the teacher to detect them. In the achievement of the proposed objective methods and techniques are used, from the theoretical and empirical level. The results allow to know how to work in the primary school for the development of the possibilities of school children and the preparation of teachers for the selection of talents.
