ACTIONS TO PROVIDE GENDER EQUITY IN THE PERFORMANCE OF PHYSICAL CULTURE STUDENTS
Abstract
Equality between men and women is a cornerstone in the construction of the new society, and its treatment is essential at all educational levels, especially in the university environment. Consequently, groups of teachers from the University of Holguin have designed a set of actions that aim to generate a space for critical analysis and learning to promote gender equity in the professional practice of the Physical Culture career. The proposal has been implemented in the subjects Psychology, Pedagogy, Sociology and Philosophy and their results were evaluated in the student's professional practice. Methods of the theoretical and empirical level were used, the survey of Physical Culture professionals and students in training; the observation of different activities in the field of Physical Culture and the documentary analysis of teaching literature, guiding documents of the professional training process and those that regulate the pedagogical processes in professional practice. The application of this proposal gave students the theoretical and methodological tools that allow an adequate direction of the pedagogical process to enhance gender equity in Physical Culture, while developing investigative skills and professional attitudes from a critical and constructive perspective, in pursuit of achieving a student more committed to the process of transformation of society.
