The explosive force is in almost all the actions of game that appear within a game of football, is for that reason it needs to be stimulated from the stage of formation of the football players. Strength training in formative categories should be aimed at preparing the young person to meet the demands of the game, promoting a multilateral work of physical qualities with an emphasis on explosive force. By means of plyometric exercises, the muscle reaches its maximum potential in a short period of time, so its application in training is an effective way to improve the explosive strength of the players and their overall athletic performance. The indicated aspects justify the present study that has as objective: to systematize the theoretical - methodological elements that sustain the development of the explosive force through the plyometric exercises in the football players of the sub 16 category.
