Adherence to physical rehabilitation programs as effective treatment in neurodegenerative diseases
Abstract
In the present article, adherence to physical exercise programs could be identified as a fundamental aspect to understand the high variability of the effect of this treatment on different neurodegenerative diseases. The literature was reviewed in the following databases: Scielo, Pubmed, Cinahl and google academy; however, there are very few studies that evaluate the importance of adherence on the effectiveness of physical exercise programs, and even less when these are applied to patients with neurodegenerative diseases. The greatest evidence of the usefulness of therapeutic adherence in physical neurorehabilitation programs comes from Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and spinocerebellar ataxia type 2. However, none of these studies has delved into the factors that directly influence therapeutic adherence to programmes. In the present review, the current state of the study is analyzed and the therapeutic adherence to neurorehabilitation programs in some neurodegenerative diseases is evaluatedDownloads
