Anxiety and Depression Syndrome of Members of the Sports Guadalajara Club during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

Nowadays, society is facing a global health crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has also affected life in different aspects. Particularly, the soccer players of the Sports Club Guadalajara did not answer the same before these difficulties. This article aimed at analyzing their activities before such a pandemic. Their level of anxiety experienced was also analyzed to determine their biological and social characteristics, identify the causing factors, consider the relation between the different variables and anxiety factors when making their professional tasks, and comparing them in the training or game field, during and after COVID-19. This research was developed through a descriptive, qualitative, and transversal study in the aforementioned club. The sample, randomly selected, was constituted by the sportsmen from all areas within the institution, having as the main criterion the easy access level of the researchers to the elements. Theoretical and empirical methods were used, as well as mathematical-statistical that allowed assessing the relation between depression and anxiety. The results derived are alarming regarding the percentage of players suffering from psychological syndrome.
