Abstract

Sabermetry studies become important for specialists and athletes because they help assess the offensive performance of athletes. The objective of the article is to evaluate the historical performance of the Baseball team of Holguín province. The scientific methods used were theoretical, empirical and mathematical-statistical, supported, the latter by the baseball software of the National CINID and the Excel program, which facilitated the processing of the data collected. The investigation allowed to know the values ​​of effectiveness, such as: average of offensive average, SLG, OBP, OPS, BABIP, K%, among others. The main results are that the team is below the historical national average, in relation to the integrative tactical knowledge; the appropriate selection of the players in the lineup, the objectivity in the selection of the throwing, according to runners in bases and the selection of the offensive tactical plays in dependancy of the hitters and in situation of game.
