Abstract

A study regarding the tests to assess the strength stamina of the stabilizer muscles in 18 kids practicing soccer in Cerro, Havana, was developed. The design was a descriptive non-experimental transversal study. Theoretical, empirical, and statistical-mathematical methods were used. The main results evidenced how important it is to thoroughly know the specific characteristics of the types of tests and their objectives for their training and evaluation. The study showed the lack of preparation of the coach over the stabilizer muscles and their control and evaluation. Also, the differences within the tests were in the trust intervals of 95 %. However, for others there was a slight difference, as well as in the variable height and weight. These results are evidence of the little development of the stabilizer muscles (Rectus abdominis, transversus abdominis, erector spinae and multifidus, internal and external oblique, transversus abdominis and quadratus lumbar, intertransverse lateral, rhomboids, trapezius, the anterior, middle and posterior fibers of the deltoid).
