Abstract

Obesity is currently considered a worldwide epidemic, caused by genetic factors and sedentary lifestyles that are characterized by an imbalance between caloric intake and energy expenditure, in activities carried out as part of daily routines. This phenomenon is associated with a group of diseases that affect death rates on a global scale, which is why it constitutes a challenge for the younger population. The present investigation was carried out at the Jesús Montané Oropesa University of the Isla de la Juventud, with the objective of assessing the effect of implementing a set of Games to reduce obesity levels in sedentary university students of the accounting career, using for this theoretical methods among which can be mentioned analysis and synthesis, induction - deduction, and Historical - logical among others, among the empirical methods used are declared, observation, document analysis and measurement among the techniques for the data collection: the survey, the opinion poll, the SPS package was also used among the statisticians-mathematicians used for information processing. As a result of this work, it was possible to solve the main deficiencies identified in the diagnosis, from the reduction of the initial obesity levels of university students, as well as the increase in the levels of physical activity in them within their school day.
