Abstract

The aim of this systematic review was to identify scientific journals that publish articles on injury prevention in soccer, taking into account the bibliometric indicators that evaluate their quality and impact, and to analyze the scientific studies of selected articles published in the identified journals. For the study we used the search for titles and descriptors "Soccer AND Injuries Prevention OR Exercise OR Exercise program OR Trainig Protocol" through the British publisher BioMed Central (BMC) and Mendeley. A total of 504 original articles were taken into account, excluding articles whose contents, titles, abstracts, methodologies were not related to the search terms and for duplicity, leaving 15 articles selected. The results reveal 11 journals indexed in Scopus with evidence of bibliometric indicators that evaluate high quality and impact and that the prevention of injuries in soccer has been a wide field of study for science, where research related to the identification of the prevalence and incidence are shown, as well as which treatment guidelines are advisable for prevention, being the most recommended, stretching and eccentric exercises, the FIFA 11+ Program and the Nordic Hamstring Exercise through the series and repetitions methods.
