Abstract

The application of games to develop motor skills is an essential element for the evaluation of children, regardless of their physical, mental and intellectual conditions. In this the Physical Education teacher plays a key role, however in the program of the subject for special education games are not applied as an alternative to develop each skill that these children must possess depending on their pathology. Methods of the theoretical level were used: synthetic analytical, logical historical, inductive deductive and empirical level: interview, survey and as a mathematical procedure: percentage calculation. To determine the effectiveness of the games, the measurement of indicators that demonstrated their novelty and validity was made to be applied to children with mild mental retardation in the development of motor skills. The main conclusions point to the need to use games as an alternative to measure the development of these skills in children with this pathology.
