Historical-Pedagogical Alternatives for Sports Research

Abstract

This article answers the leading author´s interest in the scarce historical-pedagogical research related to sports. From the identified insufficiencies, two alternatives are presented to carry out this type of research, to improve the teachers' motivation, both in postgraduate and undergraduate student training. The suggestions are in the determination and foundation of Physical Culture's historical-pedagogical direction in this area and the use of the biographical method. The suggested methodology for this type of research follows the specificities for its implementation in Higher Education. The alternatives offered must be suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate training.
