Motor games to develop coordination in students with mild intellectual disabilities

Abstract

The social inclusion of students with mild intellectual disabilities is a priority of the Cuban Educational System in the current social conditions, in order to improve their quality of life:  That is why, quality learning for life, based on equity and inclusion in general, is increasingly sought. Therefore, the objective was to design motor games that favor the development of coordination in students with mild intellectual disabilities, from the physical education class. The study presented here was based on methodological complementarity and the bibliographic review confirmed that the physical education class in special education is based on categories and theoretical bases of philosophical, pedagogical, sociological, psychological and biological sciences. The methodology developed, based on the theoretical foundations, its structuring and functioning through the stages, reveals the synergy between its components and allows the development of motor coordination in students with mild intellectual disabilities.
