Abstract

The Cuban athletics reserve training system has proven to be inefficient compared to other leading countries in world athletics, as evidenced by the decline in its results in the 2016-2020 and 2020-2024 Olympic cycles. The lack of studies diagnosing the causes of this deficiency and the interactions between them limits the establishment of development strategies to reverse this trend. The research objective was to construct a feasible future scenario using strategic foresight techniques for quality management of Cuban athletics reserves. By applying techniques associated with the three stages of strategic foresight, six linking variables were identified, and the sum of the average values of the organization's factors showed that the Key Success Factor for the management of athletic reserves is: Theoretical-methodological conception of long-term preparation, which made it possible to construct a feasible future scenario based on the variables associated with that factor.
