Robotic Therapy in Rehabilitation from a Pedagogical Framework
Keywords:
mechanical exoskeleton, mobile machine, teaching-learning process, robotic therapy, rehabilitationAbstract
Mechatronic equipment as an effective tool provides numerous advantages, not only in the rehabilitation of patients; but also in the education and instruction of students, therapists and patients. According to the difficulty and demotivation that the students have when they approach the bibliographic materials and the theoretical explanations, these writers consider appropriate using a mechanical exoskeleton with the intention of facilitating not only the topic´s understanding but also, for achieving the students’ motivation at the time they get more involved in the project they carry out and with the advantages that it provides them. Likewise, its application reconsiders and formulates new methodologies of theoretical contents in the teaching-learning process, due to the fact that the adjustable exoskeleton allows the control of a combination of movements of the shoulder, arm and hand. Its use enables an interdisciplinary learning environment, in which students acquire skills to structure research and solve specific problems, in addition to training people with the capacity to develop new skills, new concepts and respond efficiently to the changing environments of today's world.
