Introduction and evolution of the Karate Do in the province of Holguín since 1974- 1994

The article is the result of the search of the historical elements, on the emergence and development of Karate Do in the municipality of Holguín, its figures and main results since the triumph of the Revolution, in national or international events. Documentary analysis was used as a method, in the compilation of historical data and interviews with retired athletes, coaches and the founder of this sport in the province. A historical review of the sport discipline is provided and at the same time the trajectory of the main representatives in the territory is made known. As a main result, a reference material is offered for students, coaches, teachers of Physical Culture in charge of disseminating history in the new generations of karatecas and of the population in general interested in the history of this sport.
