Abstract

Special schools and communities are the places where social and individual characteristics meet; also where collective actions form a period of genesis and transformation of the personality, in which these individuals are sorted according to their needs, preferences and interests. Despite of the fact that many authors have focused their attention on physical-recreational games to develop motivation in students with special educational needs, their use in specials schools and the community is insufficient. In this regard, it is studied the necessity of a physical-recreational program to develop motivation in these students taking into consideration the games´ functions and potentialities; and from the possibilities Physical Education, the school and community give to them.
