Beisbalón: a Pre-Game to Encourage Motivation from the Physical Education

Abstract

Physical Education is an area with great potential through which students express the level achieved of the motor, cognitive, emotional and creative development; that is why it plays an important role in learning motor actions or behaviors. This research is aimed at promoting motivation and participation from the Physical Education classes, encouraging sports initiation with a playful approach in university students, for which, a didactic game is designed containing educational and extracurricular actions. The experimental-descriptive was the type of study used. Among the theoretical methods was applied the analysis-synthesis; within the empirical, the survey and documents analysis and as a statistical-mathematical, the descriptive statistics. The pregame beisbalón improved the participation and discipline in Physical Education classes. Its feasibility was demonstrated through the teachers’ opinions, who agreed on its novelty, variety and diversity on such class; which combined helped the physical development, as well as habits, sports skills, values and a noticeable change in manners in the students’ sample. The results revealed the need for trained professors to direct the physical exercises practice in the university.
