Study of Sports Personalities: A Necessity in the Sports Initiation School

Abstract

This research comprises a current and valid topic for Cuban Education: the educative process in athlete-students at the Initiation Sports Schools (EIDE by its Spanish acronym). It integrates the knowledge, abilities, and values from the activities proposed. The investigation´s foundations are based on the methodological conceptions within the teaching process in the comprehensive formation of the student; as well as the diagnosis of the research object in its initial stage to characterize the teachers’ level of scientific-methodological training in the direction of the educative process. Different research methods were used. A methodological alternative is proposed from the obtained results to be used at EIDE Rafael Freyre Torres, from Guantanamo. It is aimed at reinforcing the teaching process from the work with sports personalities. It is also explained its implementation in all the stages and experts’ criteria can be found regarding the feasibility of the alternative.
